It was in 1999 when a group of people including V S Sudhakar, Hari Menon, Vipul Parekh, V S Ramesh and Abhinay Choudhari launched their own online retail business named Fabmart.
The business did pretty well & later physical retail malls named Fabmall were also launched in different locations in South India.
Eventually, the business was sold to the Aditya Birla Group & today it is famous and known as ‘More’ retail chain. But the founders were itching to begin something new & with their experience in the retail business, founders came together once again and launched Bigbasket in the year 2011.
currently, Bigbasket has a revenue of over $ 3.2 million as well as nearly 4,000 employees.
