Cleartrip that was previously named as Cleartrip Travel Services Private Limited is one of the global online travel companies, headquartered in Mumbai.

The company performs an online travel aggregator website for booking flights and train tickets, hotel reservations, and activities in India as well as the Middle East countries. Cleartrip has offices all around India, UAE, Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

History 

Cleartrip was founded in the year 2006 as a hotels & air aggregator by Hrush Bhatt, Matthew Spacie as well as Stuart Crighton.

After watching the fragmentation that existed in the Indian travel & hospitality sector, the founders of Cleartrip decided to enter the online travel space with the aim of making travel easy and convenient. 

Cleartrip also renders Cleartrip for Business, which is an online corporate travel management tool and Agent Box, that is a travel tool for travel agents; as well as Cleartrip Mobile, that is a travel booking app for mobile devices.

Later it increased the new services including Quickeys, to avail last-minute deals on hotel bookings as well as various other journey planning services.

In the year 2012, Cleartrip also launched a mobile application for the iPhone as well as Android users.

In April 2018, the company further launched an Arabic version of its website in order to target the increasing Arabic community in the GCC region.

In May 2018, Cleartrip brought Alexa skills for the platform.

Products & Features of Cleartrip 

Expressway – When the online payments ecosystem was motionless in its nascent stage in the year 2012, the organization launched Expressway to help users securely store traveller profile as well as payment details to make one-click bookings. 

In-app flight amendments – In the year 2013, the company also launched In-app flight amendments to help its users to change or amend flight bookings completely on the web.

Price Lock- In the year 2016, Cleartrip helped its users to lock prices for flight bookings via its feature, PriceLock.

Activities – It was launched in the year 2016. Cleartrip introduced Activities with a switcher icon to keep travel as well as locally within the same app.

Instant Search – In 2017, Cleartrip launched Instant Search intending to reduce the time taken to search as well as book hotel rooms on the Cleartrip mobile app.

In the year 2017, Google declared a partnership with Cleartrip for its flight search application, namely Google Flights.

Flexifly – In 2019, Cleartrip launched Flexifly. Flexify is a solution enabling flyers to modify their travel date and as well as time & also to switch flights between airlines with no hefty penalties.
